Buy to let
It’s never been more important to seek quality mortgage advice…

The choice of mortgage products has shrunk by almost 400 since the start of last week, according to various financial data sources.

On Monday, May 22, 5,385 fixed and variable rate mortgage products were counted by moneyfactscompare.co.uk, but by Tuesday May 30 the total had fallen to 5,012.’

Some lenders have withdrawn a selection of their fixed mortgage products, however some have removed their whole fixed rate range, at least temporarily. On a more positive note, the range of mortgage deals out there are still more than double the choice available in October 2022 following the mini-budget.

According to moneyfactscompare.co.uk, the average two-year fixed-rate mortgage has risen from 5.34% last week to 5.38% this week. The average five-year fixed-rate mortgage on the market has increased from 5.01% to 5.05% per cent over the same period.

Lenders are having to reassess their current propositions due to the ongoing concern surrounding potential future interest rate increases.
